Spade in the ground

Spade in the ground

My first greenhouse build begins.

We finally put the shovel to the soil and began building my first greenhouse. I had no idea what to expect, only that I would learn so much just by being present. One thing is for sure, I was overwhelmed with all the information Caleb was throwing at me, and I knew I was overwhelmed.

We started bringing bakkie loads of equipment and materials he had left from his old greenhouse as we started to figure out what my greenhouse would look like and where to start!?

As a side note, you’ll notice that some of these pictures are some time before we started building. That is just to give an idea of what the yard was before I found its purpose. I used to see the long grass as a hassle to cut, a problem that would cost me time and money and a lot of effort to solve.

When I look back at it now, I only see that much grass cuttings as a resource I never knew how to harvest. More about this later in the series though.
