What I learned: Day 1 at Bloem ’24

We arrived at the venue and got our wrist band for the weekend. This wrist band also had our ticket number for the lucky draw for Day 2.

Charlie & Alta Bolton

Alta Bolton

  • Burned all their bridges with family and friends but this actually lead them to their success.
  • You need to sponsor yourself out of trouble.

Charlie Bolton

When people tell you it can’t be done, don’t bother arguing with them. Instead, on the inside say: “Watch, it shall be done”.

Mark Hazell as the MC made note that the band is a session as well so we should absorb the experience and take note of the words of the songs as they are all about positive mindset in this business.

Hansie’s Panel: Names to be updated.

PANEL: THE WINNING ATTITUDE

Hansie Cronje joined by Dumeni & Asania Asongu

What is altitude in this business? Hansie makes the analogy of a planes altitude (height above the ground) instrument where in this business it relates to your motivation which is your dreams and your why. He says that altitude is about measuring your performance. It is about whether you are positive or negative.

He also mentions the attitude indicator of a plane which is “a flight instrument that informs the pilot of the aircraft orientation relative to Earth’s horizon, and gives an immediate indication of the smallest orientation change.” ~ Wikipedia.

The panel then goes on to say that attitude is like a program in your brain. It is something you program. So what is your programming? How are you programming yourself? Attitude is a difference maker. Whether you succeed or fail depends on your attitude.

The panel goes on to say that when you go through challenges, you can be limping but keep moving, keep moving forward. When you have a positive attitude, you’ll get a solution:

  • Record your own self-talk and listen to it every day.
  • Associate with positive people.
  • Don’t do things due to fear, do things due to faith.
  • You have to take personal responsibility for your attitude and you can’t hide your attitude. People can see it.

Epiphany

Meet them where they are. I need to stop waiting for my downlines and prospects who have shown interest to become more serious and come to me. I need to meet them at the point in the journey that they are and help them over the bridge as Frazer Brookes says.

PANEL: IMPORTANCE OF HAVING A DREAM & SETTING UP GOALS

Graca Samo, Bingy Nyakwela& Kelechi Okoh

Dream gives you direction. WHERE YOU ARE GOING.

Goal is BY WHEN.

A dream worth having wakes you up at night.

Q: How do you help other people to have a dream?

A: Share your authentic dreams and take action towards it. People watch you and will follow you.
  • Self-talk pulls you back towards pursuing your dream when you get distracted.
  • The energy you use to come back is the same as the energy you use to start. When you become a Diamond Director, you can’t unbecome. The knowledge, experience and realization of your new identity cannot be taken away from you.
  • Even if other people call you sapphire director, who do you say you are? Don’t let a title you are given define who you are.
  • Our dreams must be connected to the land and the people in this land.
  • Great meetings don’t make great destinies. Great decisions from great meetings make for great destiny.

Rewrite your dream

Go home and write out your dream again. Revisit it and revive your passion for your why and your dreams.

Charlie’s close

Month-end rally: Talk about principles & values.

  • God designed us all to work.
  • Never work in the bosses time.
  • Lead by example.
  • Care for your customers.
  • Care for NeoLife Brand.

To leave your job for this business you’ll need to trust God’s principles. You need to be honest and have integrity.

When Charlie left his job, he couldn’t afford to work for the boss any more because he was “earning more by accident than he was making on purpose”.

Everyone out there asks the question: “What can I get?” but to be successful in this business you need to ask the question: “What can I give?” (My time, my caring, my effort) – “That’s how this business grows”.

We share our feelings, the opportunity with people, the products.

Maximize the value of the people you have in your business. The more people you help, they make you look good.

Humble Yourself – Serve People.

Lavern Smith

[Again, forgot to get a photo. Please share if you attended and have one. Otherwise Lavern did a short session at the end].

Be still and know that God is there.

It’s normally people hurting, hurting people. So don’t be offended when people are rude but rather try to understand and help them.

My conclusion to Day 1 at #Bloem24

I kept a very positive attitude for day 1 despite an eye infection threatening to spoil my experience. I took my supplements, got some eye drops and antihistamine and the problem basically went away by Day 3.

Check out my “what did I eat” for my budget friendly plan for the weekend.

Last year I just wanted to be inspired back into action. I felt it at the event, but I never followed through. The entire event last year, I created one blog post, the Plan Ahead post. I used that post to plan for the Pretoria convention afterwards so I had some practice in building on that. This year, I had two blog posts (the Pre-trip post and On the road to Bloem 24) and multiple Instagram (@russel_fish) and Facebook (@russelwfish) posts done before Day 1 of the event even started. Catch my social media links at the bottom of this page.

This post being one of many others that I had scheduled in advance in the days leading up to the trip so I could just log in and update the posts as I go along. I had planned many Instagram/Facebook posts but as it turned out I decided to rather focus on photos of each session, and on Day 2 I did a few videos as well.

My epiphany on the approach when dealing with downlines and interested prospects was also a good mindset shift that came out of today, and further evolves as I go through the Day 2 and 3 of this event.

Did you attend #Bloem24? Maybe you attended the Bloemfontein conference previously and have something to add about your experience. Comment below or contact me to have your story posted on my blog.

Thank you for reading. Check out my post on day 2.
